Wonder Woman by toonbat Wonder Woman by toonbat
As a warhorse. Her choice of weapon makes so much more sense that way.

Invisible (and inevitable) Alex Ross styled Pegasus wings. Yay for Amazon references!

Pretty awesome! But what happened to her red star? Did she become a capitalist, or something? ;)

Seriously though, that's one sweet painting. Did you base it on a previously existing one?

Kinda makes me wish Barks had Wonder Woman from the beginning, he might have foresworn the dognose and dogears. This is really terrific and is going into my Faves.
I can't resist: there is something to be said for the original Wonder Woman's figure and costume, but the latter wouldn't hold up long in a real fight unless it was Amazonian bodypaint. Makes me wonder...........

Eh. A few shoulder straps and it would have been okay. I mean, Wondie's invulnerable anyway, so it's not like she needs any armor, or anything. To me it seems far more problematic that... well, why would a foreign ambassador drape herself in the emblems of the country she's visiting? On the other hand, I gotta admit it's a damn interesting diplomatic approach.

Aww, thankyee! Hope this doesn't keep you from enjoying the many other Wonder-Woman-as-a-funny-animal concepts out there. ;)

I recall seeing a gorilla Wonder Woman comic a few years ago, and I heard there's one where she shows up as a polar bear, though I'm not familiar with it myself. Not from lack of Googleing, either.

I don't know if you created this Wonder Woman inspired animal amalgam yourself or if it existed in some DC publication, and I don't care. This is absolutely wonderful, and you should be so proud! If you check out my Spider-Ham fan art, you can see my appreciation for such tributes, and your work here totally satisfies my tastes! Great work!!

Heheh! I love your Spider-Ham piccies! Specially Mary Jane Waterbuffalo for some reason.

Wonder Woman as a horse is my own concept, as are the Superman-as-a-griffin and the Spider-Man-as-a-spider-monkey ones. I love the many furry takes I've seen on different heroes, but I always wanted more 'appropriate' choices. I'm really happy with the ones I have so far, and I have several others lined up, including The Joker, Scarecrow, Poison Ivy, Cyclops, Captain America, The Specter, Electro, Hawkgirl (not a hawk!), Green Lantern (not a chipmunk!), The Hulk, Bizarro, Sandman, and a whole buncha others. Strangely enough, it's the ones with the really obvious choices, like Batman or Wolverine, which are the toughest to design, since there's no pleasing element of surprise to grab your attention. The end result is too obvious to be intriguing. And I haven't been able to come up with any really good choices for certain favorites like Green Goblin or Dr. Doom.

Ahem, anyway, thank you very much for your comments, 4PH! I always look forward to your stuff. Gorgeous and cartoony is my favorite mix.

Sweeeeet! I love how you made her a Trojan horse, with a cool Roman helmet and that skirt-thing. And it's so neat how her hair actually comes from the top of that brush on the helmet, rather than from her head. Plus the wings are so pretty. Ooh, and I love all the movement in the lasso, it's so flowy. <3

Such a groovytacular idea! :D

Trojan horse? Nah, her mommy made her from clay, not from wood! You're probably thinking of Wonder Girl. Now _she_ was probably made of wood, since her real name was Donna Troy.

Well, you could say it was a Greek helmet, since they both kinda look alike, except that the Greek ones were bronze, not steel, so it does look more Roman-like, admittedly.

Aww, now I feel like raving about all the other details I've changed too! Frankly, I've long had a love/hate relationship with Wonder Woman. I'd die to have my say on a remake of the character. Hopefully they'll fix her up some if they ever make the movie.
