Surprise Encounter by toonbat Surprise Encounter by toonbat
Oh, you will, Oscar. You will.

Hmmm... my Gnaw drawings so far depict her so very... sympathetically. I fear I may not be doing the adorable little psychopath justice.

I have yet to use a Mimic in a Dungeons and Dragons campaign. Maybe it's the mechanics of it that make it a tricky concept. Or maybe it's the fact that the damn monster manuals for 4th edition don't include it!! Err... or maybe it's because I've yet to run a DnD session where the players make it past level 2.
*******
Gnaw belongs to the Brothers Grinn and is used without permission, but I'll be working on that in a moment.

Well, I did get around to buying the 3.5 books, but haven't gotten around to using them much.

well you will notice a lot of differences and a lot more ease of game play with it, also pathfinder is great and goes with 3.5

Waaaaaiiit... according to this everytime I opened an chest in an fantasy game it could've been actually an mimic that enjoyed the lockpicking so much that it decided not to attack me?
...
Damn!!

This is truly an hilarious piece. I've never though about that.

That depends. Is your character hot and adorable?

Let's see....
manly hairy viking in Skyrim, Orc in Oblivion, gritty warrior in Dark Souls, grim racistic elf mage in Dragon Age....
Nope, not hot and adorable at all^^

Sometimes Mimics just creep me out when I encounter them. The chest is in a place were I can't reach it easily and when I'm finally there and hope for some treaure worth the dangers this [link] happens.

I've been playing DnD for some 30 years and have used a mimic twice. I saw this and couldn't stop giggling for a long time. I wish I'd thought of that for my dungeon.
